Health and Safety Notice

NB: The health and safety of participating smiths and the public is a key concern of the organisers. In order to Minimse the risks of a hazardous working environment we therefore ask you to comply with the following:

Safety glasses must be worn at all times in the forging area.
Safety shoes or boots must be worn at all times in the forging area.
No alcohol is to be consumed in the forging area.
As far as is practical all clothing should be fireproof.
No member of the public is permitted in the forging area whilst forging is taking place.
Take due care and attention of other smiths in close proximity to your hearth.

NOTES:

• In the event of an accident a steward or an organiser must be notified as soon as possible
• A first aid box for minor injuries is located in the marquee
• Fire extinguishers are located at various strategic points around the forging area
• Showground personnel are available for advice or treatment of any injuries, please locate the nearest treatment centre upon arrival at the stand.
• Please report any issues relating to health and safety to an organiser or steward
