Established for over 50 years, the metalwork feature is a great attraction throughout the show for the 90,000 plus visitors.
Featuring Eight classes for competitions as well as other static display items.
Class1 Any article produced using traditional blacksmithing methods in the competitor's workshop with the exception of ancillary fittings or fastenings and with a selling price of under £250 (ex VAT). Marks will be deducted if other processes are used e.g. electric welding.
Class 2 Any article produced using traditional blacksmithing methods in the competitor's workshop with the exception of ancillary fittings or fastenings and with no limit of the selling price. Marks will be deducted if other processes are used e.g. electric welding
Class 3 Any article produced in the competitor's workshop of a modern or contemporary design and with no limit of selling price. Items in this class may use any process preferred by the competitor
Class 4 Any article produced in the competitor's workshop of a sculptural or feature design with no limit as to the selling price. Items in this class may use any process preferred by the competitor
Class 5 Any article produced in the competitor's workshop of a sculptural or feature design with no limit as to the selling price. Items in this class may use any process preferred by the competitor
Class 6 2 hour Live To be confirmed
Class 7 Crash'n Dash
Class 8 Sample item; To a sample, materials will be provided.
Class 9 Presidents Choice; To be confirmed
Late entries will be accepted up to show opening time, Live competition entries can be made during the show.
Classes 1-6 are eligible for consideration in the National Champion Blacksmith of the year award
